DREAM WITH US

AFGHANISTAN

WE DREAM OF EDUCATION AND A SAFE SPACE TO CALL HOME
WhatsApp Image 2022-11-07
Afghanistan was already one of the toughest places on earth to be a child.
Right now, the situation is desperate.

August marked one year since the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan. Decades of insecurity and conflict has left Afghanistan facing one of the biggest humanitarian crises in the world. What’s happening in Afghanistan?

13.1 million children across Afghanistan still urgently need humanitarian assistance to survive. As 1.1 million severely malnourished children under the age of 5 are expected to need SAM treatment. Political instability, an economic crisis, drought, and COVID-19 have collided to create an unprecedented humanitarian emergency. Following the devastating earthquake that hit eastern Afghanistan in June, killing over a thousand people and leaving many more injured, your support is needed more than ever. They need protection and assistance.

Our project in Afghanistan provides education to 165 children who would otherwise be subjected to child labour. We provided accommodation and emergency food supplies to 25 children who would otherwise be living on the streets. .

GREECE

WE DREAM OF EDUCATION

FOR EVERY £90 RAISED WE CAN GET ANOTHER CHILD INTO ONLINE EDUCATION

More than three quarters of the 4,656 school aged children on the Greek Islands seeking asylum do not attend school.

With your support we are looking to expand upon the work that we began in 2019. The children are calling upon us to help them deliver their mission. To get as many refugee children sat in refugee camps in Greece into education. We currently provide English and Science lessons to 100 children. We want to be able to not only continue supporting those currently enrolled with us but to also be able to increase our reach to get as many refugee children as we can into education.

To effectively carry out this project we require £50k to expand to more children and to continue to operate our current facilities.

IT COSTS £25,000 JUST TO KEEP OUR SUSTAINABLE CHILDREN’S HOME OPEN EACH YEAR

Our mission was to successfully open a sustainable community children’s home in mainland Greece.

We currently provide a safe space to call home to 15 young refugees from Afghanistan and their families. We also provide emergency accommodation to children who find themselves sleeping in the park and on the streets. Within our safe space we provide educational activities and we do our best to provide children with a hot school lunch each day.

We require £50,000 to be able to deliver our children from Afghanistan’s Sustainable Future Dream. This enables us to expand to more children, cover the costs of accommodation and to effectively provide for the children’s other wellbeing needs.

UGANDA

WE DREAM OF PUTTING AN END TO HUNGER

CREATING A SUSTAINABLE FOOD PROGRAMME HAS SO FAR SEEN A PROJECT OUTLAY OF £10,000

Uganda has hosted more refugees than any other African country with 1.5 million in 2021, primarily from South Sudan and The Democratic Republic of the Congo. This has severely strained Uganda’s food resources, and both malnutrition and anaemia run rampant in refugee settlements.

The lack of nutritious foods and balanced diets has led to high rates of malnutrition and related diseases such as vitamin deficiencies, stunting and anaemia. This project is a campaign led by child headed families who have fled South Sudan and are now living in refugee camps to set up their own chicken farms and a sustainable feeding programme.

To keep this programme operating we need a budget of £25,000 per annum.

WE DREAM OF HAVING OUR IDENTITIES BACK

£10,000 ENABLES A CHILD TO UNDERGO RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY AND COVER MEDICAL CARE COSTS.

A campaign led by our young ambassadors whose faces and bodies have been destroyed by war. The children are looking to raise funding to not only cover the cost of their medical treatment but to also help as many other children as possible.

The first child identified was Fatima who was born in Idlib Syria in 2012. She was only 9 months old when a bomb was dropped right next to her home. Fatima sustained severe 3rd and 4th degree burns to her head, face and body. Fatima’s dream is to be a normal girl just like all the other children, to be able to go outside and feel accepted.

£100,000 enables us to support ten children with their reconstructive surgeries and medical care costs.

LEBANON

WE DREAM OF EDUCATION

DELIVERING EDUCATION TO 200 SYRIAN REFUGEE CHILDREN IN OUR MAKESHIFT SCHOOL IN A REFUGEE CAMP

The successful education model that we have set up proves that no child living in refugee camps needs to be without education.

This project replicated our model established in the refugee camp in Greece. We are providing over 200 children with a basic safe space in which they can meet with their teacher on a daily basis and receive online classes delivered by our team of international tutors.

We require a budget of £25,000 per annum to keep the school open, operational and to expand to further children. Funding will also be used to purchase key pieces of technology for the children and educational resources to enable them to study online.

EMERGENCY DEPLOYMENT

WE DREAM OF...

CRISIS & CONFLICT CAN DEVELOP QUICKLY ANYWHERE AND THAT IS WHEN WE CAN BE NEEDED THE MOST.

Situations such as Afghanistan and Ukraine have shone a light on the need to be able to deploy quickly and efficiently in times of crisis and conflict to respond to the differing requirements of the time.

This project is an emergency fund that Strong Gens uses to be able to support children by responding to whatever they may need on an urgent basis. Not limited to any given crisis or conflict of today it also allows us to be wherever the next may arise, on immediate notice.

We require £100,000 to enable us to deliver whatever the needs of the crisis or conflict at that time may involve.
